A New Vintage Point

A Guide to the Best Vintage Websites

Bargains = good. Everyone can agree on that. Especially when it comes to vintage designer fashion.

But rummaging through mountains of second-rate secondhands in search of that one Pucci or Courreges treasure? Not so good.

Which is why, when it comes to shopping for vintage threads, the place to do it is online. A mini guide to some of the best sites:

Chelsea-girl.com: The celeb-friendly SoHo shop offers an online shopping option, with dresses from Oscar de la Renta and other big names. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Consider the personal shopping feature: Tell them what you desire, and they’ll hunt it down for you.

Carolinesclosets.com: Brainchild of former model Caroline Keating, the site has some slamming of-the-moment finds: lightly worn designer dresses, trendy ’80s stuff, and used Westernwear.

Yoox.com: Streamlined, sleek, and featuring 200 designers, Yoox specializes in items from past seasons’ collections by Marc Jacobs, Chloe, Emilio Pucci, Gucci, Prada, and Yves Saint Laurent at up to 75 percent off.

Enokiworld.com: Hands down the most impressive online source for killer handbags and other designer clothing and accessories. For more contemporary used stuff, the sister site is Enokiland.com.

Trashy-diva.net: Don’t be deterred by the unfortunate name. This is a great place for high-end vintage frocks from the ’20s and ’30s.

Fashiondig.com: A no-brainer for retro glam.

Wasn’t that fun? Now the only rummaging you need to do is through the UPS packages crowding your doorstep.

Thanks for the list! I have an Etsy store - http://www.etsy.com/shop/bluehawaiivintage for my vintage clothes and jewelry. I always search on www.etsy.com for myself too. They have great mint condition pieces for reasonable prices. It's my go-to for great occasion wear and one-of-a-kind repurposed pieces.
