A Kinder Cuppa
The Tea & Coffee Plant Opens
Did you want full fat, half and half, skimmed or soya with your grande triple-decaf, iced, wet vanillamochachocafrap?
On second thoughts, a glass of water will do.
And now for something altogether different: The Tea & Coffee Plant, a spot on Portobello Road that serves your regular with a little more integrity (and a little less insanity).
Nothing about Tea & Coffee is artificial: The space is no frills; the quality is top-notch; the staff are laid-back. (It’s kind of a Working Title version of a Cornish surfing cafe, minus the cod and chips).
In addition to delicious (and well-priced) fair trade teas and coffees, the cafe serves organic biscuits, fudge and bags of chocolate-covered goodies.
All proof that simple doesn’t equal unremarkable.
Straight up.
The Tea & Coffee Plant, 182 Portobello Road, W11 (020 7221 8137).
