We all fancy something a bit clever.

Well, here’s something new: Trovata clothing. The brand, whose name, appropriately enough, translates as both ‘found’ and ‘stroke of genius’ in Italian, was conceived by four beach bums in a university dorm in Southern California. The line serves both guys and girls with a great range of tees, vests, well-fitting khakis, corduroy suits and preppy blazers.

The collection, now based in Newport Beach, California, feels like something straight out of The O.C. Slip on one of their garments and you’ll feel like you’re hanging out with Marissa, Ryan, Seth and Summer by the pool whilst they pester their step-twice-divorced-once-removed parents for the keys to the jeep.

Who knows? Maybe you’ll find that you, too, can consume giant vats of ice cream and stacks of pizza all day and still remain a size 2.

Now that would be a true stroke of genius.
