Get Stoned

Lolite. Jade. Amber. Such desirable things. And no, we’re not talking about those reality TV star-cum-hair-colourists who are ‘famous’ for their topless Jacuzzi moments.

Nice little gems can be hard to source. And unless you can get down an opal mine in Yemen or trek to Rajasthan for a spot of intense haggling with the locals, buying them can be a confusing and rather costly proposition. So count your blessings that South African jewellery designer Kirsten Goss has opened her first London boutique, full of handmade, semi-precious pieces that are both original and (relatively) affordable.

Crystal drop earrings in garnet or agate, chokers and chains in topaz and quartz, and duster rings with turquoise and jade — this stuff is as chic as it is colourful. So popular are her designs in London, she’s even produced a line of limited edition pieces for Liberty. They are highly covetable wares and a tribute to the powers of nature, guaranteed to be admired for their exquisite charm and beauty.

Unlike, perhaps, a pair of E cups.
