Present Affair: Part 2

And now for some carefully selected presents for gentlemen of every age, and every price range.

The Sophisticate
A leather ‘hero’ or ‘genius’ paperweight will sit nicely with his paperwork (and his ego). He’ll relish a private film screening of his choice in The Soho Hotel’s cinema or a customised glitter surfboard when cruising around on the yacht. And, of course, a large leather photo album in which to show it all off.

beer!The Life and Soul
Any bloke will get into the festive spirit with a Make Your Own Beer Machine or something that’s ready-made. A mini chocolate fondue fountain will keep him entertained for days, as will Glitterville’s quirky Christmas toys and decorations (Selfridges, 400 Oxford Street, W1; 0870 377 377).

The Player
A man with the simplest sense of humour will thrive on a rocket pen; electronic Sudoku will shut him up when he’s sniggering too much. If he’s pining for a playmate, a singing Cubee will amuse for hours; failing that, a batch of novelty fridge magnets can’t help but crack him up. Proper boys (and girls) will appreciate time off from immature parentals with Busy Kids London, where they can star in their own movie or learn how to cook. In peace.

cheese!The Nester
Please him with something tasty like Linley’s cheese knives or Poilâne’s bread box. It’s the chicest thing since sliced bread. Keen gardeners will like a leather tool wrap, or go deeply original and present him with an  ancient olive tree.

You’ll be giving peace on Earth to all men.

And to all women, too.
