Have Merci

Stella Cadente Shop Opens

stella cadente!

Le croissant. Le French kiss. Maurice Chevalier.

As tasty things go, the Brits have a lot to thank the French for. And now there’s Stella Cadente.

This gently avant-garde fashion label has been adored by the French for a decade, and has just opened its first boutique in London. It’s brimming with feminine clothes, accessories and home wares from the ‘Stella Universe’, all of which have that chic, brocante-inspired Parisian edge (that’s a flea market, if vous ne savez pas).

The label’s style is girly with plenty of pretty pinks, flirty florals, soft feathers and outrageous faux furs alongside well-cut dresses (great on the boobs and hips), jackets and shirts. Spring/Summer ’06 references Moulin Rouge; perfect for budding burlesque enthusiasts and those who fancy un petit jig on the dance floor.

Tasty?

It’s up there with beaucoup de foie gras, Olivier Martinez and une grande bouteille de vin rouge.

Stella Cadente, 54 Cross Street, Islington, N1 (020 7359 8015 or stella-cadente.com).
