Tired? Depressed? Suffering from SAD? Or just a bit blue?
Don’t fork out for a light box just yet. A new source of happiness has opened its doors in the form of Saran Rom, which means ‘to be happy’ or ‘to enjoy’ in Thai.
The new restaurant honours its roots by importing ingredients from Thai farms and villages. With a carved interior modelled on the famous Thai Vimanek Palace, it’s an impressive joint with a vast dining room, bar and outdoor garden overlooking the Thames, complete with daybeds for those who fancy a mid-course snooze.
Expect genuine Thai hospitality and a menu that’s hot, with all the tom yung kungs, spring rolls and satehs you’d expect, followed by deep-fried ice cream and sugar lollipops.
Local residents even get a free ride home in a genuine motorised Tuk Tuk.
Happy now?
