Sainsbury’s is rammed. Tesco is basic. And that voice on the M&S food adverts is enough to put you off food for life.
What ever happened to the convenience store?
Here’s one: Harrods 102, a place right opposite Harrods where you can get a good-for-you take-away lunch, a quick massage or a bottle of milk (albeit a rather expensive one). There’s a Krispy Kreme stand, a Yo! Sushi belt and a Fournil de Pierre in-house bakery alongside a Chinese herbalist, Farmacia oxygen spa bar, Kenneth Turner florist and Blossom & Browne dry cleaners.
Of course, this being Harrods, don’t expect no-label brands; it’s posher than Partridges’. But you can bet the staff will be super efficient and the stock pristine. A concierge service will hand-deliver items to local residents or prepare bags for collection for those who live further afield.
How convenient.
Harrods 102, 102 Brompton Road, SW3 (020 7730 1234 or harrods.com).
