Want some fun but feel curbed by London’s extortionate prices? Being cheap doesn’t mean you can’t be cheerful.

Start by avoiding the traffic wardens with a parking timer, then relax with a breath of fresh air and a decent organic sugar fix. Want some good company? Being in a relationship costs time and money; stay single with an inflatable husband or wife and light up your life (and your home) with some pretty tea candles.

Want to treat someone else? Avoid expensive birthday cards with a Time Saver multipurpose greetings card or a mini cake. Disguise second-hand offerings in fancy wrapping paper.

Save money on flowers; get them to grow their own. And forget rip-off theatre or concert tickets; instead go for a really cheap laugh.

All of this, and each for under a tenner?
