The Butcher & Grill Opens

On today’s menu: alfalfa sprouts, mung beans, tofu burgers and quorn.

Enough already.

Fancy a big, hot, juicy hunk? No, we’re not offering you David Hasselhoff. We’re talking about a red-blooded piece of meat from The Butcher & Grill.

This new joint is a traditional butcher with a grill next door. At the cold cuts counter, trained butchers suggest and serve a selection of fresh beef steaks, tender lamb chops or home-cooked pies and pates, all sourced from British and French farms. Local customers can benefit from home delivery by bicycle or chilled van.

Next door there’s The Grill: a modern-rustic restaurant and bar offering grilled, roasted or braised meat with a selection of sauces, salads, potatoes and vegetables. The adjoining bar serves coffee and patisseries for breakfast and steak sandwiches and oxtail soup for lunch.

Remember: eating a juicy hunk is not a crime.

Just savour every mouthful; they’re a rare breed.
