Film4 Summer Screen Nights

As Sandy proved so well in Grease, there’s nothing like old-fashioned courting to enhance a summer. (It makes that final snog so worthwhile.)

To improve your own chances for some summer lovin’, dust off your knee-length skirt, pull on your cashmere twinset, draw on a packet of fags and head to the open-air Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House. (Partner optional, but preferable.)

From 10-19 August, films like The Outsiders, School of Rock and The Shining (always a good thigh-grabber) will be projected on state-of-the-art screens in the lovely courtyard.

It’s all very romantic, but if you need a little breather (or some Dutch courage), outdoor stalls will sell posh food and drinks.

Those randy Pink Ladies would definitely approve.
