Fancy a holiday? You could join the crowds at the check-in desk, on the motorway, at the service station or at the beach.
Or you could stay at home and eat at the Brompton Quarter Cafe. This new food emporium serves a huge range of Mediterranean cuisine, including tasty dishes from lesser ‘done’ places like Lebanon and Tunisia.
There’s a deli with cold meats, dips and freshly made salads, along with an adjoining juice bar. If you want to eat on site, there’s a large oak table in the bar area for the communal thing and a more formal restaurant upstairs.
There you can sit on Kenzo fabric-covered banquettes or under chandeliers by Piet Boon, eating swordfish carpaccio or grilled lamb merguez with Tunisian carrots. For pudding there’s a selection of exotic cakes and tarts. Or order a takeaway box of patisseries tied with VV Rouleaux ribbon from the deli counter.
No need to pretend you’ve been on holiday; you’ll have plenty of gastronomic tales to tell.
No queue-barging required.
