Supper Lectures at Miller’s Academy of Arts and Science

Fatigued by formal dinners? Done with dancing in sweaty nightclubs?
The signs are clear. You hunger for a more cerebral dining experience.
Book a table at Miller’s Academy of Arts and Science, where you can sip chilled cocktails whilst tuning into a riveting lecture on art, psychology, music, science or literature by guests like Charles Glass, Andrew Motion and Dr. Ali.
Run by the vibrant Martin Miller and his Transylvanian wife, Ioana, the opulent club offers three evening lectures a week with a ‘light’ supper: home-cooked lasagna or shepherd’s pie followed by apple crumble, substantial amounts of cheese and wine — for a mere £30. You must be a member (£115 a year), or be with one, to come. But given the venue’s popularity (most of the neighbourhood has its name down), it’s worth it just for the networking.
Plus, feeding your body alone is passe; these days it’s all about refining your mind.
Just in case you needed the heads up.
Miller’s Academy of Arts and Science, 28a Hereford Road, W2 5AJ (020 7229 5103 or millersacademy.co.uk).
