Nutty as a Fruitcake

Kylie and Dannii, Paris and Nicky, Serena and Venus — some sisters are clearly doing it for themselves.

Pandora, Portia and Scarlett are no exception. Though the three upper-crusted siblings could be characters in a Jilly Cooper novel, they are, in fact, chefs devoted to making fruitcake from a Scottish recipe handed down through three generations.

The secret to the Edmiston sisters’ creations: alcohol. (Shocking). Fruit is soaked in cognac for weeks before it’s combined with nuts, glace cherries and golden sultanas. The result: a rich, moist and reassuringly heavy cake that has a shelf life of at least a year and will likely induce sleep after consumption (a bonus at any family gathering).

Each cake comes hand-decorated with dried fruit and nuts as opposed to traditional Christmas white icing. So, though it’s called ‘The Christmas Cake’, it will serve any occasion, any time of year.

Orders are taken online and can be sent to any location in the world.

Including, of course, the sisterhood.
