Born Three

Clapham: an area known for its spacious common, multiple dog-owning residents and plethora of pushchairs.

And now Trinity, a new restaurant for hungry people from all walks of life, which opens in Clapham Old Town today. Set up by Adam Byatt (who has worked at Claridge’s, The Square, Thyme, Origin and The Hospital), it’s set to become the new favourite for those in search of a convivial, laid-back spot.

Trinity offers seasonal, European-inspired lunch and dinner: lasagne of rabbit, broad beans with black truffle and roasted onions, poached crayfish and lemon grass mousseline, as well as fresh cheeses. For those who’ve had a serious hike on the Common, there’s a seven-course tasting menu and a hefty three-course Sunday lunch. Extra rowdy groups should consider renting the private dining room.

What’s more, the place is relatively cheap. Lunch, for example, costs £10 for two courses.

How very uncommon.
