Laura Kimber at Kamini Salon

Some things, like spots, shaving cuts and the flu, seem to last forever. Others, like suntans and cheap manicures, vanish almost instantly.
For a longer-lasting varnish, put your hands (and feet) in those of Laura Kimber at Kamini Salon, whose manicures and pedicures are some of the most thorough in town.
Though she’s young, she’s capable — and her prices are refreshingly unpretentious. A basic 40-minute mani costs £25, while a 50-minute pedi is £40. During both, Laura lovingly soaks and buffs hard soles, trims dry cuticles, massages tense muscles and paints nails to perfection. Luxury paraffin wraps and French manicures are also available.
Until London can produce some proper Manhattan-style nail bars (that are super quick and cheap), this girl’s a great compromise. She’s calm, competent and her work lasts for weeks.
Pay her a visit and you may find a nail place you really trust.
At long last.
