Seasoned Readings

‘Salt’, by Jeremy Page

Man, your boss can bark out orders. Sometimes you just feel like you’re under assault.

Which is unfortunate when you’d rather be under, well, a Salt. That is, in bed with a copy of Jeremy Page’s debut novel.

No stranger to storytelling, the first-time author hits the literary scene with some FilmFour editing experience under his belt. Now he’s spun a tale of his own (half narrated by a mute child) about three generations living in Norfolk.

Page fills his work with eccentric characters dwelling on a salt marsh, and as legends are passed down over time, truths become as murky as the mud itself.

It’s likely a world very different from the one you know, but given the stress in your office, that might be a good thing.

And the next time your so-called superior spits out a demand?

Take it with a pinch of salt.
