Key ingredients needed for a successful British barbecue: fuel, sausages, a little sunshine.
And buckets of enthusiasm.
At The Rosendale (sister restaurant to The Greyhound at Battersea), which opens in West Dulwich today, you can sit back whilst a bevy of chefs does the grilling for you. Set in a 19th-century Victorian coach house, with a restored Royal Doulton tiled facade, it’s possibly grander than your backyard.
Choose what you fancy, by weight. Expect rib eye, sirloin and rump steaks from Sussex; new season lamb from Kent; pork from East Sussex; and fresh Cornish fish. If a made-to-measure barbecue isn’t to your taste, the dining room offers delicacies like pig’s head roulade with Yukon gold potato salad and wild Cornish sea bass with claw fish sauce.
Now that’s something you could really get your teeth into.
