The Pirelli calendar, building cities on water, that marble willie.
There’s no denying it, Italians often do it better.
Especially when it comes to ice cream. At Scoop, a newly opened Italian gelateria in Covent Garden, everything’s made on site by Tuscan creator Matteo Pantani. Choose from 24 flavours, including classic cioccolato al latte, panna cotta, ricotta e fichi and biscottino (swapping cookie dough for nutty chocolate and crumbled biscotti).
The gelato is gluten free (as are some cones), and most ingredients — like Sicilan pistachios, Tuscan pine kernels and Piedmontese hazelnuts — come fresh from Italy. Ice cream shots, cakes, milkshakes and sandwiches are also served at this groovy pasticceria-cum-caffetteria; eat there or take everything home in a chic coolbox.
So when it comes to doing it better, this place hasn’t just got nuts.
It’s got balls.
