Dedicated E-mail: Waitress

Finding £20 in your pocket, your office nemesis up and quitting, flowers when it’s not even your birthday. You’re a big fan of the unexpected (minus that time you came home and found your ex on your doorstep).
You’re also a big fan of pie.
And both play a part in the new movie Waitress, in cinemas 10 August.
The adorable Keri Russell plays Jenna, a diner waitress who turns her dead-end life around in writer/director Adrienne Shelly’s charming slice-of-life comedy.
Trapped in a dead-end job and married to a mean, mean man, Jenna is determined to win a pie-baking contest and start life anew with her winnings. Then comes Surprise No. 1, and it looks like she’ll be stuck whipping up Pregnant-Miserable-Self-Pitying-Loser pie forever. Until Surprise No. 2: I-Can’t-Have-No-Affair-Because-It’s-Wrong pie.
The film, which premiered this year at Sundance, is so delightful (like still-warm pie!), you might find yourself needing a second helping.
There’s plenty more to tell, but that would spoil the surprise.
