The Shop Floor Project

this shop'll floor ya!

You’ve cash to burn and you’re hungry for booty.

But can you be arsed to trawl through London’s department stores when they’re swarming with rampant sale shoppers?

Hit The Shop Floor Project instead. The online store — a notably creative e-commerce site that’s bound to inspire many a copycat — sells all things quirky and covetable. It’s a kind of Dover Street Market without the tourists.

Curated by artistic mother and daughter team Samantha and Denise Allan, the site uses collages from magazines, old country house guides and cinema stills. Via these, you’ll find bags by Natalie Thakur (whose striped leather shopper is genius); jewellery by Erica Weiner (her little bees are golden), Jo Cox and Susie Lloyd; hats by Karen Henriksen; as well as notebooks, cushions, art books and magazines.

Should you want to absorb some culture along the way, The Shop Floor Project has its own art gallery.

It’s all there, on your doorstep.

And you don’t have to lift a foot.
