Brooklyn-based handbag designer Jessica Maxcy created her first collection for fall with travel (by land, sea, and space) on her mind.

Incorporating heavy brass hardware crafted by her father, she mixes soft yet durable baby blue, cream, and dove gray leather with details reminiscent of her favorite means of transportation — a nautical chevron here, a cosmic crescent there, and plenty of zippers in between. Every detail serves a structural purpose, so the bag will stand the test of time.

Striking color combos and unique shapes are sure to garner Maxcy some much-deserved attention. And the oversize frames and plethora of internal pockets make the bags as useful as they are pretty.

Clearly they’re meant for a girl with somewhere to go.
