The Dorchester: an establishment with real staying power.
And as if current eateries China Tang, The Bar and The Grill weren’t enough, the immaculate hotel adds another string to its illustrious culinary bow, thanks to iconic French chef Alain Ducasse, who opens his latest restaurant in the building today. With a host of dining rooms under his belt — Le Louis XV in Monaco, Plaza Athénée in Paris — Ducasse is a force to be reckoned with.
On the menu: contemporary French dishes like seared scallops with Swiss chard and ponzu dressing, poached breast of Landes chicken with Albufera sauce, and exquisite desserts — all made from predominantly British ingredients.
If it’s look-at-me action you’re after, book the Table Lumière, a private dining space for six surrounded by dramatic fibre optic lights.
The Dorchester, a mere hotel? Hardly.
Powerhouse, more like.
