Take That pulled it off, the denim jacket is trying its hardest, and the ’80s make one every few years: everyone loves a good comeback.
Especially the owners of The Peanut Vendor — a midcentury furniture and homewares shop in Islington. Each week, Barny Read and Becky Nolan trawl junk shops, antique fairs and auctions for discarded design classics to which they give a little facelift.
You’ll find everything from mirrors, lamps, cushions and art deco crockery to larger pieces, including side tables, sofas and hall units, originally from the 1930s to the ’70s but all in decent condition.
Prices are more reasonable than most vintage or antique shops, and nothing will arrive flat packed with encyclopedia-size instructions.
We’re sure you’ll keep going back for more.
