The old rom com formula is getting, well, old.

Boy meets girl. Boy woos girl. Boy ruins everything. Boy wins back girl with over-the-top display of affection.

Puh-lease. You deserve better for your £7 — like Away We Go. The Sam Mendes directed film follows a young pregnant couple (John Krasinski from U.S.’s The Office and Maya Rudolph from Saturday Night Live) as they travel across America looking for the perfect place to call home.

Misadventures with distant relatives and old friends (a noteworthy ensemble including Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jeff Daniels and Allison Janney) guide the duo toward happily ever after, while music by George Harrison, The Stranglers, Bob Dylan, The Velvet Underground and Alexi Murdoch set a pitch-perfect mood.

It might even be enough to inspire your beau to put a ring on your finger, knock you up and settle down once and for all.

Well, don’t get carried away.
