You rarely do things by halves, but every so often you make an exception.
Like Cocorino, the traditional Italian eatery, which just opened quietly in Marylebone. It’ll soon be both gelateria and focacceria, though for now only the latter is open. And it’s not half bad.
Eat in or take away pastries, porridge, fresh filled breads (focaccia, sourdough, piadina, panini), plus soups and salads. The ice cream parlour, opening later this week, will occupy the other half of the space and serve frozen Southern Italian specialities, as well as homemade waffle cones and brioscia (ice cream-filled brioche).
Owned by Linda Yau (Alan’s sister) and Francesco Mazzei (L’Anima chef), it promises to be as authentic and worthy as a trip to Italy.
At a fraction of the price.
