American Express knows it takes all kinds to make the world go round. After all, if everyone marched to the same beat, things would be pretty boring. Its Realise the Potential initiative is here to help you express your individuality by encouraging you to do something exciting and different.

To get started, American Express is hosting one of London’s biggest drumming tutorials in Covent Garden’s East Piazza. The alfresco event will feature top drumming troupe BassToneSlap (of Dragons’ Den fame) leading all goers in a beat-by-beat mass musical session.

Even rhythmic novices will leave with the ability to bang out a recognisable tune. And while Ringo-esque comparisons are unlikely, you’ll at least unlock a little creativity and perhaps be inspired to continue making music after the event.
