You’re meeting your peeps for cocktails. The pub is too cramped, it’s too early for dancing, and you’re too old for anything that takes place underground.
Join the club.
Morton’s Club, to be precise. The spot — which reopens today in its former Berkeley Square townhouse — is now for members only (and up to five of their guests).
The casual meeting place has two bars, a dining room serving Mediterranean-inspired food (there’s a three-course lunch for £25) and a club room. Upcoming special events will include a perfume-smelling workshop with Miller Harris, jazz sessions and a talk by Serpentine Gallery angel (and Morton’s committee member) Julia Peyton-Jones.
Other founding members include Timothy Taylor (gallerist), Zafar Rushdie (son of Salman) and Carole Bamford.
It’s quite a gang.
And if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.
