You’re never suitably attired for Annabel’s, and even if you could get a table at Scott’s, you’d have to starve for the rest of the month just to pay the bill.

Sneak a taste of the good life at The Mount Street Deli, opening tomorrow. The latest offering from Caprice Holdings resto group, a casual (for Mayfair) delicatessen serves the famous Annabel’s chocolate cake, Scotch eggs from Mark’s Club and Harry’s Bar pizza in a cosy, welcoming space.

Fellow foodies will gather at the communal table amongst the open fridges and displays of specialty foods like Ventresca tuna belly, high mountain honey and black pig salami, all sourced from Italy and the British Isles. But as soon as the council stops digging up the street, you’ll find us on the small front terrace, enjoying freshly baked pastries with Cornish jam for breakfast or a homemade Montgomery’s cheddar and Henshelwoods pickle sandwich for lunch.

Takeaway and delivery to W1 and SW1 are also available, so you can indulge from the comfort of your couch — just our kind of luxury.
