Tuscan-Inspired Italian from the Locatelli Brothers

Tinello Restaurant Opens in Pimlico

Most employers keep a tight grip on the purse strings (shocker). So if your boss throws money at your new venture, you must be doing something right. Especially if your bosses are the owners of Locanda Locatelli, which some (we) have called the best Italian in town.

That’s the situation with Tinello, a casual Tuscan-infused restaurant in Pimlico. It’s a venture between the Locatellis and the Sali brothers (Max and Federico), who used to work for them. The cosy new space has floor-to-ceiling wine racks, exposed brick wall and a menu inspired by Max and Federico’s Tuscan upbringing.

Take a seat amongst the wine bottles on the ground floor or looking onto the basement kitchen. Start with a series of small plates to share (zucchine fritte, pickled octopus). Move on to antipasti, pasta (eggless fusilli with vegetable ragout, ricotta ravioli with Swiss chard), then your main (cod with anchovy sauce, beef with lemon spinach). Finish with an almond tart or apple cake with rum and raisin ice cream.

Tinello opens tomorrow solely for you, DailyCandy reader. For everyone else, it opens Thursday. Call it a bonus.
