Curry might be the nation’s favourite dish, but the lingering smell on our clothes, hair and curtains? Not so much.
But at British perfumer Louise Bloor’s new supper club, you’ll be delighted to walk out smelling like the food. At the first one, on 2 September, she’ll make a five-course meal with a Middle Eastern twist that includes lamb stuffed with orange blossom and saffron rice, fennel ice cream, and vanilla and orange baklava.
Bloor trained in perfumery in California and for the last seven years has made bespoke scents using natural essences. Inspired by her collection of edible essential oils, she’ll serve sensually appealing feasts for twenty guests on the long dining room table in her Dalston flat. Take your own wine, contribute at least £25, and mingle with fellow foodies in the garden before sitting down to eat. Dinner starts at 7:30 p.m.
As a parting gift, each guest will get an oil blended from the fragrances used during the dinner. Curry not included.
