Chinese New Year has come and gone, and sadly your celebrations consisted of neither a national holiday nor a red envelope stuffed with cash.
But there’s still time to ring in the Year of the Rabbit with a Chinese cooking class, courtesy of the School of Wok.
Originally from Hong Kong, Cordon Bleu-trained chef Jeremy Pang will come to your home with all of the necessary ingredients and tools — including aforementioned wok — to make any three dishes from his menu. Choose from sesame prawn toast and spring rolls, sweet and sour pork, clay pot chicken, fried rice, a whole Cantonese roast duck and more. Pang will also provide tips on knife sharpening, the best oils to use and how to rid your fingers of the pungent smell of garlic.
It’s so simple you might never make your way back to a Chinese restaurant — which is just as well. We hear they’re pretty crowded this time of year.
For more information, go to schoolofwok.co.uk, £70-£95 per person.
