The Ballad of Lindy & Grundy
Lindy (Amelia Posada) was a die-hard vegetarian who squirmed at the sight of a cheeseburger. Then she met her wife, Grundy (Erika Nakamura), a classically trained chef studying the art of charcuterie.
Grundy wanted to open a butcher shop specializing in organic, locally sourced, and sustainable meat, but she needed Lindy’s help. Although Lindy had a cow at first, her love for Grundy and her abhorrence of processed meats won out.
Today, catch the cleaver-wielding couple at their just-opened Fairfax shop, Lindy & Grundy Meats. A true nose-to-tail operation, it has everything from prime cuts of sirloin and chicken feet to Italian sausage and pork rillettes.
It also peddles creations from the duo’s artisan pals (Mothercluck preserves, Bellwether Farms yogurt, Cowgirl Creamery cheeses) and has a DIY spice and fresh herb station.
Because even carnivores need their greens.
