Little Saplings Throws Ecofriendly Garden Parties

Birthday Fetes That Plant Life Lessons

The doc reassured you that grazing is a normal eating pattern for a 2-year-old. However, you’re pretty sure her munchies should include something other than Goldfish, bunnies, and pretzels.

If your tot has developed an aversion toward anything green, throw a Little Saplings garden party.

Owner Ruth Steinberg creates outdoor fetes that introduce kidlets to the principles of organic gardening: simple propagation techniques, basic composting, and the fundamentals of plant design.

Choose a theme (ladybug, cowboy, farm), and Steinberg dreams up a project for each child to complete, whether it be a small garden or a potted plant. She entertains little sprouts with fantastical stories of magical seeds while they decorate containers, play in the soil, and learn how plants bloom, flourish, and feed families.

After all, you eat what you sow.

For more information, go to littlesaplings.org. Party prices start at $350.
