In the world of pliés and pirouettes, you’re more a lame duck than a black swan.
But don’t get your feathers ruffled. Swoop into Ballet Bodies, a barre-centric new West Hollywood fitness studio that flips flabby thighs, sagging arms, and droopy derrières the bird.
Owner Andie Hecker, a former New York City Ballet dancer and Tracy Anderson trainer, tailors her Ballet 101 classes for novices, focusing on fundamental positions and techniques. With barre and floor work combos taken from NYCB’s warm-up routines, you’ll be grand jeté-ing like Natalie Portman’s body double in no time.
Wing it at Circuit Aerobics, a high-impact fusion of ballet, Pilates, yoga, and kickboxing. Or take flight with Jump, a trampoline/jump-rope cardio workout.
Class sizes are limited, so expect plenty of instructor TLC.
Still think you can’t dance? We cry fowl.
Ballet Bodies, 8376 Beverly Boulevard, between North Orlando Avenue and North Kings Road, West Hollywood (323-944-0944 or balletbodies.com), $35 per class.
