A Dad's Guide to Styling Girls' Hair

A How-To for Fathers

dad hair!

In your house, parenting is a 50/50 arrangement.

Except when it comes to combing locks. You and your daughter agree — Dad needs to step away from the brush.

Hair is no longer a mommy-only affair thanks to SoCal’s Craig Lawrey, a Navy marksman turned stay-at-home dad. After realizing his daughter’s wild mane made her look like a cave child, he set out to tame her tresses.

The result: a step-by-step photo guide that teaches Pop to turn bedhead into a sleek, shiny coif. Covering everything from the basics of ouch-free brushing to detailed descriptions of braiding techniques, the book is written in simple prose (with plenty of input from Lawrey’s daughter).

And though it’s not winning any awards for design, it did help our tester dad master his little girl’s do — without getting all tangled up.
