Common sense is a worthy attribute. But common scents? Leave ’em in the drugstore discount bin.
L.A. aromatherapist and perfumer Persephenie Lea turns up her nose at tired top notes like vanilla, musk, and honeysuckle (a.k.a. eau de seventh grader) and creates custom-blended fragrances and small-batch body care using hard-to-find essential oils and absolutes.
Get a whiff of her latest olfactory endeavor at her appointment-only apothecary. Lea’s new roll-on perfumes burst with rare, botanical ingredients like orris root, South Pacific sandalwood, and Egyptian jasmine. Choose from four scents: floral Datura, earthy Bedouin, youthful Kildren, and spicy Leatherwood.
And be sure to sniff out her aromatic limited-edition jewelry project (a collaboration with makeup artist Christy Coleman). Think crushed rose and resin prayer beads and vintage narwhal tooth pendants.
They’re a scentsible solution to off-the-grid accessorizing.
