When it comes to art, it’s not the size of an artist’s canvas that matters.
Take Jaeme Estera, Nita Darling, and Nikko Gray: These veritable Picassos of the pinkie have opened a new nail art collective, Kleur, in Freak City’s gallery space.
Theirs is a polish job unlike any other — more masterpiece than mani. The Kleurettes paint pointers in vibrant tribal patterns, Mondrian-esque matrixes, zig-zag vortexes, and more.
There’s nary an airbrush or stencil in sight in their no-frills storefront. Instead, you’ll find scores of RGB and CND shades (neons, glitters, gem tones) and more than 150 far-out, original designs from which to choose. Pick your palette and pattern or let the ladies improvise (watching them freestyle is half the fun).
Drop by their Hollywood digs, catch them Sundays at Space 15 Twenty, or book them for a private party.
The coast is Kleur.
Kleur, inside Freak City, 6363 Hollywood Boulevard, between North Cahuenga Boulevard and Ivar Avenue, Hollywood (213-986-6245 or kleur.me), $35 and up.
