There’s a tear in your beer. Years of choking down corporate brewery suds has made you morose, lugubrious even.
Cheer up. Sunset Beer Company will cure what ales you.
The brainchild of Colorado Wine Company’s John Nugent and Jennifer Morgan (along with pals Jenna Miller-Von Ah and Andrew Von Ah), the shop is one part craft beer emporium, one part tasting bar, and 100 percent genius.
Eleven doors are organized by brew style with the usual suspects (Dale’s Pale Ale, Yeti, Prima Pil) interspersed with wild cards (Leifman Sour, the coriander-brewed Horny Devil). Have manager Alex Macy curate a taster six-pack to go or fork over the $2 capage fee and head to the bar, where a cozy, modern pub vibe (vintage furniture, faux fireplace, art for sale) awaits.
A rotating tap and regular tasting events keep things interesting.
So hops to it.
