“Either this wallpaper goes, or I do.” — Oscar Wilde, on his deathbed

’Tis a pity Wilde’s walls weren’t plastered with Cecil Beaton prints. (Perhaps he would have lived longer.)

The British photographer/artist’s whimsical 1940s sketches — originally commissioned for Zika Ascher’s textile collection — have been transformed into a wallpaper and fabric line covered with tic-tac-toe boards, jaunty sailors, elegant ladies, and more.

Our favorite in the bunch, Garbo’s Eye, presents Beaton’s take on the actress’s ice-blue peeper, reproduced ad infinitum on gray linen.

Sure, it’s a tad excessive. But to borrow more of Wilde’s words, “Moderation is a fatal thing.”
