Poketo Opens Downtown

Cuteness overload

From daily, in-the-know emails (ahem) to Corgi Rae Jepsen, the Internet is the fabric of our lives.

And when something jumps off the monitor and into the third dimension, so much the better.

Hence, we were jazzed to hear that one of our favorite online shops, Poketo (pronounced poh-keh-toe), went brick-and-mortar.

Owners Angie Myung and Ted Vadakan’s new Downtown shop is a cheery, gallerylike space stocked with hundreds of the label’s kooky-cool design collaborations with artists from all over the world — from its now iconic wallets to twee stationery to geometric brass baubles. Also stocking shelves: goods by indie brands like Clare Vivier, Industry of All Nations, and Baxter of California.

Myung and Vadakan are dedicated to promoting the local creative community and plan to use the space for art shows, workshops, and benefit concerts for artists.

It’s dot-commendable.
