Friday nights are full of first-world concerns (no seats at the bar, that girl across the room wearing your dress).
Even if you’ve got 99 problems, jeweler Lauren Lester makes sure standout jewelry isn’t one.
From her Tenderloin studio laced with succulents and Salinger, Lester creates While Odin Sleeps, a line of ethereal yet industrial jewelry ornamented with raw stones found everywhere from rock shops to the city’s streets.
Raw and dark oxidized brass provide the backbone for her structural, one-of-a-kind necklaces and earrings. Highlights of the ever-evolving collection include the Peacebone (double half-moon strands of pyrite) and Face:Face (lavender agate geode and carved bone) necklaces, and Interlude earrings (subtly art deco hexagons).
For the still undecided, Lester does the heart good by donating proceeds from the Nightlayers necklace to Hayes Valley Farm.
A charitable aspect that’s out of this world.
Available at whileodinsleeps.com, $25-$150.
