EmmieBean Digital Portraits

Every pixel tells a story

A Picasso sketch from a thrift shop. Andy Warhol’s childhood scribbles at a garage sale. Gems can be found in the roughest of places.

Including, thanks to digital illustration company EmmieBean, your camera phone. Or Facebook photos. Or prom scrapbook.

Submit your favorite candid to Santa Barbara-based illustrator Sadie Solomon and she’ll rework it into a pop art masterpiece — flaunting your good side and immortalizing the moment in one fell swoop.

Using a palette of retro hues with splashes of cherry red and aquamarine, Solomon renders each custom drawing with archival ink on enhanced matte paper.

The end result, an eleven-by-fourteen or twelve-by-twelve illustration, arrives by mail in two to three weeks.

Isn’t it nice when art’s democratic?
