Peddler's Creamery Bicycle-Churned Ice Cream

Wheelin' and dealin'

peddler's creamery!

Officer: License and registration, please.

Pedaling Peddler: What seems to be the problem, officer?

O: You were riding in the bike lane, but that thing has three wheels.

PP: This “thing” is an ice cream churner, the brainchild of frozen dessert pioneer Edward Belden. Pedaling the wheels turns the dasher in the stainless steel canister on the back, which mixes and transforms all-organic ingredients into deliciously smooth, rich ice cream in exotic flavors like Mexican chocolate, honey lavender, and gingerbread.

O: Any lactose-lacking options?

PP: You bet. And the sorbets (apple cinnamon, basil strawberry) are vegan. Order a pint online (for delivery via bike) or follow us on Twitter to see where we pop up next. The entire process is sustainable and five percent of profits goes to charity, so you can treat yo’ self and feel like a good Samaritan.

O: Sounds like a police escort is in order — and two scoops of vanilla.

Available at peddlerscreamery.com, $9-$24. Follow @PeddlersIce
