App-y Day: Keepsy

The zippiest way to print and send photo books

When you capture a photo in which Captain Squirmypants is smiling, it’s a keeper. When you accidentally delete the photo, it’s a weeper.

Expect the best with Keepsy, a new site that turns digital pictures into gift-worthy albums. Pull photos from your desktop, Instagram, Flickr, and elsewhere, and compile them into a custom flipbook. Send the digital albums for free or have them printed and bound into a hardback book.

No other site we’ve tested is as flexible or fast. Instagram photos get put to good use in a square-format album that showcases up to 3,000 photos. Or order a coffee table book and put a perma-grin on the grandparents’ faces.

An added bonus: The Keepsy Time Warp Camera app for iPhone, which lets you snap a pic and rewind time by three seconds to seize the shot you want (a.k.a. the one without bunny ears).

Available at keepsy.com. Digital books, free. Printed books, $18 and up. The Keepsy Time Warp Camera app is available at itunes.apple.com, free.
