The Weekday Blues
Your DVR erased Dance Moms
da da da da dum dum
Your goldfish up and died
Your boss has you workin’ overtime
And your brain’s completely fried
Turn that frown upside down with Lookout & Wonderland, a collection of indigo textiles now available at a few of our favorite indie boutiques around town.
Sourcing all-natural pigments from across the globe, artisan Niki Livingston employs the traditional Japanese shibori method of dying to create shades that range from chambray to midnight.
Pick up linen blankets and scarves in subdued solids and hippie-dippy tie-dyes or relaxed-fit cotton tees and roomy frocks (made in collaboration with fashion line Perfect 69). For custom work, no request is too big (curtains, furniture upholstery) or small (a baby blanket).
And with made-to-order prices starting at just $150, Livingston’s singing our tune.
Available at General Store, 1801 Lincoln Boulevard, at Superba Avenue, Venice (310-751-6393 or shop-generalstore.com); Dream Collective, 1404 Micheltorena Street, at West Sunset Boulevard, Silver Lake (323-660-2000 or dreamcollective.com); at lookoutandwonderland.com, $15-$300.
