Flock to Objects Collected

Iko Iko, Building Block, and Storefront collaborate

objects collected!

Except for the occasional score (half-price cashmere somehow feels softer), chain store shopping leaves us feeling empty.

Objects Collected, the Arts District’s newest kid on the block, fills the void.

Aesthetically compatible creatives hawk their wares in a whitewashed space that’s part gallery, part retail experiment.

Reclaimed wood furniture by Shin Okuda pulls double duty as ripe-for-purchase decor and in-store display fixtures. Iko Iko co-founder Kristin Dickson-Okuda lends a touch of softness with washed silk twill and muslin pieces from her line, Rowena Sartin. Fresh off the heels of a successful collaboration, Building Block’s design-savvy sisters, Kimberly and Nancy Wu, add their structured buckets, clutches, and totes to the mix.

Found objects and vintage pieces (geometric Navajo rugs, midcentury chairs, Victoria Morris pottery) from Storefront’s Coryander Friend (yes, that’s her real name) round out the assortment.

Satisfaction guaranteed.

Objects Collected, 801 Mateo Street, at East Seventh Place, Downtown (323-719-1079).
