Are you well-bred?
If so, according to the dictionary, that means (among other things) that you’re courteous and considerate. Which means, paradoxically, that a breeder is the last place you’ll go when looking for a new pet.
So where do considerate types go? Rescue foundations, of course. Our three favorites: The Amanda Foundation, Pet Orphans Fund, and Much Love. All three are non-profit organizations with Websites to help get you started. All three save animals from shelters who would otherwise be destroyed. Sure, it’s a little more work (there’s an extensive screening process to make sure you’re fit to own an animal), but it’s way cheaper than going to a breeder or pet store.
And in the end, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you saved a life.
And that’s what we call good breeding.
