Beauty emergency: It’s an oxymoron in most parts of the world. Not in L.A., my friend. We take our laugh lines, breakouts, and bad-hair days with nary a grain of salt. Hence Rescu Cosmetique, the new shop on Robertson that’s a beauty queen’s one-stop cure-all for every kind of aesthetic angst. Half of the space is devoted to peddling lines like Ligne St. Barth, Geisha, Barex, Korres, Boscia, Sonya Dakar, Peter Thomas Roth, and C.O. Bigelow. The other half is a serious salon, where trained specialists give oxygen facials, brow waxes, makeup applications, and Alpha Beta Professional peels. The feel is vintage, with marble-top tables and light-green wooden shelving. Serious surroundings, serious beauty. Just the way we like it. Rescu Cosmetique, 132 South Robertson Boulevard, between Beverly Boulevard and 3rd Street (310-276-9670); rescucosmetique.com.
