Some Like It Raw

Raw-food enthusiast. A contradiction in terms?

That’d be an affirmative. Mock-salmon sushi? Cheezeburger? Um …

Raw, L.A.’s newest raw-food restaurant, may just change your mind. Owner Juliano, L.A.’s raw-food guru, has an uncanny ability to turn uncooked vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and seeds into simply delicious dishes that can convert even the most die-hard carnivores.

Tijuana Tacos, Pesto Primavera Pizza, Gourmet French Fries, Strawberry Mousse Parfait, and Black Forest Fudge Mousse Torte … All winners. And the guacamole may truly be the best in L.A. Even the Rawzania, a scary-sounding vegetable-and-ricotta lasagna look-alike, gives the sensation of comfort food. All that’s missing is the heat, allowing the 100-percent-organic ingredients to retain their nutrients.

It’s all so tasty it might just make you forget the joys of a charbroiled T-bone.

Well. Almost.
